Becoming an Associate

We are looking for a SMALL number of additional WELL established developers to participate in the store. What we mean by well-established is Developers who have enough experience in producing products for IMVU that they can be independent. During the early stages of the store, the senior staff will be engrossed in getting everything running smoothly leaving little time to Mentor newbies. For the present time, we need to get it working well, before we can teach others what we have learned.

Associates are expected to have a minimum of 10 products in the store to remain active. We encourage you to place new products in the store on a regular basis so that customers are seeing fresh products by you. You may also run sales at a specific discount, or percentage and any length of time. The ability to bundle products will be available shortly. The minimum price for an item s $0.50 USD. ALL products submitted to the store MUST be exclusive to the CDG store. We do not want to duplicate what is available in the main IMVU catalog and we will not approve products that are of a mature or adult nature. This is a family-friendly store.

In case any developers have a concern about this. Products that are sold in our store are and remain the property of the Developer. The product files are stored on the IMVU server and we have no access to them. Our store only points to them, so the Developers maintain TOTAL control of the products and files. You will also see the record of any sales in your IMVU reports, so there is an independent audit trail, insuring you that ALL sales are reported.

The Cross Design Group is very serous about Copyright, Trademark, and Intellectual Property infringements. Products in the store must be derived from a list of approved Developers or from other Associates. We will not approve products submitted to the catalog if these guidelines are not adhered to. We will also not approve products that have registered trademarks, contain fan art, celebrity likenesses, or images not in the public domain. If you are not sure your product meets these criteria please contact NevaCross or Driggger before submitting your product. Products found to have copyright infringements will be pulled from the catalog immediately and may result in the Associate's store being closed.

And, finally, Associates are responsible for the customer support of their products. Complaints from customers regarding support by Associates may result in the termination of the Associate relationship.

In Summary:

So how does this all work...? A customer comes to the store and makes a purchase for themselves or as a gift. The request goes to Paypal for approval (and is hopefully approved), once the approval info is returned to the store, the store then contacts IMVU with a transaction that buys the item(s) with the store's credits (paying the IMVU fee and the derivation fees), and the items are placed in the appropriate Avatar's inventory. Once all of the transaction have been completed, the store can then pay the developer 70% of the net (what customer paid minus the fees the store paid to IMVU) either once the Associate's store balance hits a certain amount or once a month. This is to minimize Paypal fees. The store does all of the conversions and will also buy credits that our Associates collect on IMVU at the best possible conversion.
